First Day of the Tournanment

Its funny, but for some reason I thought that this travel soccer thing would be hard. With Tim and his years racing motocross and many years traveling with cheerleading, its all the same! Tim is funny in that he jokes that I am more stressed and worried before a competition then the kids are. He used words like Neurotic, insane . . . in need of a Valium. I am always worried that I will forget something. I have turned OCD. Did I pack this, that ... if I don't go over and over it I can't leave. I guess it because I am so scatter brained, that I know that if I don't do this I WILL forget something.

The first day of the tournament was incredible. I cannot believe the skill level of these girls. This ain't rec soccer!!! These girls are rough, tough and can move the ball across the field fast. I am so proud of Ashley. She is the new girl on the team, the ONLY new girl. So she is having a bit of a learning curve - see how she plays etc.

We had two games today and won both of them! Right now we are in 1st place. If we win our game tomorrow we will stay and play in the finals for the championship. We play the team that is in last place and hasn't won a game.

It was hot as hell, but it was great! I love watching Ashley play. To see her smile like she does when she plays, well, its pretty damn good!!!
